#55. Meet someone famous

When my little sister came to Hershey to spend a few days with me, we volunteered at Hershey’s Track & Field Games. This was my second year volunteering and it is so amazing to see these young kids from all over the United States and Canada come together to compete. Kids have to qualify in their states and region which earns them an all expense paid trip to compete in Hershey. A pretty sweet deal if you ask me!

My sister and I were the Vanna Whites for the day…we were in charge of handing the medals to the “VIPs” who presented the kids with their medals. VIPs included important Hershey people (including a K-State grad!) as well as several track and field athletes.

Rafer Johnson and Carl Lewis were two of the superstar athletes we met. It was pretty neat to be rubbing shoulders with some pretty important people. I also enjoyed seeing the kids come from so many different places…it was nice to see some people from Missouri and Kansas. Enjoy a few pictures of the famous people!
