#58. Make a gingerbread house

With minimal time off from my dietetic internship, I wasn’t left with much time to go home for Thanksgiving. Instead, I hopped on the train (which I am quite a fan of) and headed to New York City to meet Phil so we could take in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with 3 million other people.

We also met up with another K-Stater and fellow Mortar Board member, Bobby. He’s in NYC for Teach for America. It was great to see someone from home! 🙂

Phil and I headed back to D.C. Thanksgiving afternoon to prepare for our Thanksgiving meal Friday evening. We had several friends over (K-Staters!) and it was nice to have a ‘real’ Thanksgiving, even though I’m 1200 miles away from home.

After dinner, Phil and I attempted our gingerbread house from Trader Joes. Besides making a tiny mess with the frosting and getting the sprinkles everywhere, it didn’t turn out half bad. Maybe next year we can try something a little more complicated.

So much to be thankful for…

  1. Aww – it’s cute! Although I’m looking forward to seeing your bridge-castle… thing next year! 😉
